Stories from the Estate

To mark 100 years of the Slough Trading Estate, an important site of Britain’s industrial heritage, I was approached by the owners SEGRO to compose a story collection based on their extensive archive. My brief was to bring to life and give voice to the social, cultural and domestic history of the communities that have lived and worked on the Estate over the years.

A 96-page hardback volume of stories was produced as part of a collectors pack, which also included two large format photo books.

The stories are paired with drawings by Con. H Lomax, who produced many illustrations for the Estate in the 1930s and is fondly remembered by generations of kids and parents for his work on the Ladybird Books imprint.
