Global Soundtracks
Adventures in Music

One of my side hustles in London was a podcast called Global Soundtracks, presented by Tom Ravenscroft, whose weekly show The Ravers Hour on BBC 6 Music is an absolute must for lovers of the edgier end of electronic music and contemporary club sounds.

Between 2009-2010 we made 26 shows, and they’re all great, featuring incredible new music plus reports, field recordings and interviews with artists, fans and labels from Tokyo to Soweto to Norway and beyond.

I came up with the ‘adventures in music’ tagline, which really captured the attitude behind this labour of love. I also wrote show notes, artist biogs and the like, and generally supported Tom and the team.

‘From the Pied Piper to your big sister, it is people that bring us the soundtracks to our lives. A machine may be able to guess what music we like based on our listening habits, but only a human can appreciate the adventure.’
